The following are samples of my producing work. Although I’ve produced nearly a hundred segments while at AMW, I only picked a few to be on here. All these segments I researched, conducted interviews, directed talent, gathered b-roll, wrote, supervised the edits and picked the music. Some of them also contain re-enactments which I directed.
Atlantic City Four
I love this segment because it is completely different than what we set out to shoot. Correspondent Michelle Sigona and I traveled to Atlantic City to cover the breaking story of four prostitutes who were found murdered nearby. It looks like it could be the work of a serial killer. When Michelle and I arrived in AC, the prosecutor’s office refused to let investigators speak to us. So Michelle and I decided to find the people who knew the streets the best, the women who worked them. I believe what we ended up with was magical. I make a small cameo “picking up” one of the girls.
Sha Danger
Because we had actual video of Tracy Boyce rapping, correspondent Tom Morris and I wanted this segment to feel like a hip-hop video. I watched a lot of music videos on Blastro.com to come up with the green screen animations that we used for our re-enactment. I also worked very closely with our graphics supervisor Mike Gower to come up with the look. There was a lot of rendering on this story. Much of the music is a mix of stock and actual music from James Green’s production company.
Shadow Wolves
This is a another great example of finding a different story from what I was set out to do. I was tasked to produce a story on Native American Customs Officers who track drug smugglers through the desert. When I arrived I thought we’d just be trekking through the desert looking for footsteps. But when the sun goes down this sleepy desert turns into the wild wild west.
